My Capstone Research Study

Attack Angle Research Study

Hi! This is my blog for my senior STEM capstone project. In order to graduate from the Forsyth Central STEM Academy, students must participate in either in an internship or capstone project. While I had two internships lined up, both ended up not working out due to my school schedule and COVID-19. Our capstone projects have to focus on something we are passionate about and require us to apply the skills and knowledge we have learned through our pathway. In case you haven't seen my other pages, I kinda really love baseball. I am also finishing the engineering pathway, which mean by the end of April, I will have taken four years' worth of AP Physics. I guess you could say I have learned a little bit of physics here and there over the course of the last three years. Anyways, I spent hours and hours trying to find some sort of study that I could do for baseball that hasn't already been done a million other times before coming up with my study. I began collecting data on April 20, 2020, and collected data from swings in the middle of the strike zone. After watching Alex's data trends for a few days, I determined the lower and upper bounds for my data collection.

I started collecting data for pitches right down the middle of the plate. I placed the tee right on top of the base for the middle of...

I'm doing it!

In order to graduate from my STEM program, I must complete an internship and/or capstone/research project. The capstone/research project combines a passion of yours with skills you have learned from your STEM pathway.
